There's a lot of things to complain about. There's a lot of things to bitch about and I may surprise you,

but can I tell you the number one thing that annoyed me as the meds got swept by the Tampa Bay Rays?

The number one thing that annoyed me

is there's been one constant over the last couple of years.

One thing that you can rely on, the one security blanket that we have as Met fans is that

this closer will come into a game and he will not be the guy from 2019. He won't

be Armando Benitez. He won't be Braden Looper, he won't be that typical, you know,

rip your heart out, Met Closer. And when I give Edwin Diaz a lot of credit for is that he blew saves in

2022. He did he wasn't perfect. Now the last save he blew in 2022 I think was in May

that game against San Francisco.

But it seems like when he has blown saves over the last couple of years,

they haven't been that complete kick in the balls moment like we had back in 2019.

This game on Sunday afternoon, this blown save on every level from the importance of the game, from he's one out away, he's one strike away, he's facing a guy who is hitting one effing 40 this season and Randy a Rosa Rayna for him to give up a home run on a three two pitch

Was an absolute backbreaker I mean it was an absolute backbreaker.

I mean it was an absolute killer.

So trust me, I'm not exonerating Jeff McNeil who has sucked.

I'm not exonerating Pete Alonso who continues to be a shell of his former

self and we'll get to all that. We'll get to all of it. I'm not exonerating the

fact that nobody can throw a guy out at second or third base.

And by the way, that's not all on Omar Narvayas and Thomas Nido.

In fact, most of it is on this freaking pitching staff who can't hold me on.
