Welcome to the Boneyard with Steve Robertson, as always, I am your good friend and host Steve Robertson here on the magnificent Monday edition of the yard.

A little bit later than I expected, I had a couple of things broke, you know, as we were kind of getting this whole thing together.

The first of those being Keaton Thompson.

Keaton Thompson has re-entered the transfer portal,

not a surprise to anyone. We absolutely wish KT the absolute best. And he will be finishing up his

degree this spring from what I understand and will be eligible to be a grad transfer, making

him immediately eligible to play this coming

season and still have two years of eligibility left. So good on you, Ketan, for working hard

and getting your degree and working hard to get it done in time where you can kind of get

out and be a part of a new program. It just didn't work out. You know, it's one of those things

where it's not anybody's fault. You know, Ketan signed on with Mississippi State, looking to kind of be

eventually the heir apparent, you know, in the Dak Prescott, Nick Fitzgerald line of quarterbacks

at Mississippi State. He signed on to play into Dan Mullen spread option offense.

And then the offense changes. And, you know, it's one of those offensive schemes under

Joe Moorhead that this didn't fit Keaton's skill set. It's not to say that Keaton's not a good quarterback.

It's not to say that Keaton's not capable of understanding what's asked

of him, but it's just a matter of a skill set. He just did not have, you know, the vertical passing

game as part of his arsenal. And I think one of the things that makes KT great is his ability

to make people miss in space. He needs the run pass option. He is a true dual threat quarterback,

and my hope is that he will find a school to enable him to utilize his skills and betterment

of his ability and really, really wish him the absolute best. But that is now official, long,

long rumored and expected,
