Welcome to the lawn yard with Steve Robertson. As always, I am your good friend and host Steve Robertson here on the Maroon Friday edition of the yard. Hope things are well with you, wherever you are today.

Hope that you and all of those you love are far from harm's reach as we deal with this unprecedented time in our history, as you guys are well aware.

I mean, if you want 24-hour coverage of the coronavirus pandemic, you can certainly get that.

We're going to take a little break from that, talk about some Mississippi State stuff.

Before we do, I know many of you have kind of kept up with our friend Dave Johnson.

Dave, one of the good guys in our industry.

And I know people say, well, you know, Steve, he covers Ole Miss.

And that's true.

But that doesn't preclude him from being a good person.

And Dave and his family really, really, really, really need your prayer supports, good good vibes whatever you have to offer

it's been a difficult week for sure you've been on a ventilator for over a week now and so uh

the news yesterday wasn't very good we're hopeful that there is some positive developments today

there haven't been, but I

appreciate so many of you that have reached out and said, hey, Steve, listen, didn't really know Dave

that well, but we're praying for him. And other people said, you know what? I've read Dave's work

for years. I've always thought him to be a little more objective of the old miss reporters,

and that's probably fair too but either way there are sometimes

and we can kind of lay our swords down for a common cause this is one of them

this is not a state old miss thing this is a human being thing it's one of

those things to the release still kind of blows my mind that all of us, myself, Magnemoth, Jean, Marianne Swindall, Paul Jones, Robbie Falk, all of us around David Johnson for basically a day and a half in Nashville.

And none of us have had any symptoms enough. Dave is in the battle for his life.

It's one of those things that really gives you a sense of gratitude.
