Welcome to the Boneyard with Steve Robertson. As always, I am your good friend and host, Steve Robertson, here on the magnificent Monday edition of the yard. It's not quite so magnificent.

Spit the weekend in Knoxville. I guess I got up there on Wednesday after the show. I had a great time with the wife. The company was the baseball not so much and i i tell you this

we open the show sometimes talking about how great it feels to win man it sucks to lose it really does

you know for me i'm sure many of you share this same affliction you know the misery of losing

far exceeds the joy of winning. It does.

I can't stand it.

I absolutely cannot stand to lose.

I'm a hyper-competitive person.

I like to affiliate myself with winners.

I'm not a bandwagonist or by any stretch of the imagination.

I'm a true maroon bulldog through and through.

But the reality of it is, is we are not playing baseball consistent with our tradition and standards that we have for this program. This weekend, we hope to go up there and get a game. We didn't get a game. We had a chance to get a game. Bullpen couldn't hold it. Had a couple guys have some good offensive weekends. But the reality of it is, it's a team game. It's not just about what you score, it's about what you let in, and we let in more than we scored. And it stinks. It absolutely stinks. I'll be honest with you guys on Saturday, you know, when that game began to get away from us, and we cleared it was going to be some separation of ball game.

I'm sitting here thinking myself, man, there's a lot of places in the world I'd rather be.

But we stick it out.

We treat it with professional gloves.

Try to do a good job for you guys.

I did something I don't ordinarily do, though, because of the fact that, you know, the weekend was was so poor I did not do a player interview on Sunday which is rare I don't know that I've honestly I've ever done that in all the years that I've

covered Mississippi State Baseball I don't know that I have passed on the player

interview and quite honestly I was ready to go, but also too, I thought, you know what?

I want to ask Chris some, you know, kind of some point in questions and, you know, I wanted to focus on that.

Not to mention, I didn't want to bring another player up there.

Because it's the same thing. I mean, what do you expect him to say?
