| 0:00.0 | Welcome to the Boneyard with Steve Robertson. As always, I am your good friend and host Steve Roberts. |
| 0:04.9 | It looks like I'm a little hot today. Let me turn that down. I apologize for that. I'll be better now. |
| 0:10.5 | Kim, come in hot. Sometimes that happens. You know, I've rebut this computer and sometimes, you know, sometimes things don't always go the way we planned. |
| 0:23.3 | That's much as the case, at least for me anyway. |
| 0:25.9 | It's like I have these expectations and things that I expect how they're going to go. |
| 0:31.2 | And sometimes things are often much, much better than we anticipate. |
| 0:35.6 | I've been told at times that I'm a bit of a crisis junkie that I expect the worst and then I get this euphoric rush when things turn out better than I expect. But be that as it may, hope that you guys are well today and hope things are going exactly as you want them to go. How about that? That's my sincere wish for you today. A lot of going on, Mississippi State, |
| 0:55.7 | and I play in football this weekend. You know, and to be fair, and I don't want to sound like |
| 0:59.8 | one of the self-loathing Mississippi State fans, but we probably need a week off. And I don't just |
| 1:06.9 | mean as a team or as a program, but maybe it's a fan base. I think maybe we need a week to kind of prepare ourselves for a tough weekend next weekend in Alabama, but also too, you know, we've had three disappointing weeks in a row. I think we just kind of need a chance to kind of, you know, take our breath a little bit, and, you know, maybe get some stuff done around the house this weekend, but I'm looking forward to watching college football. |
| 1:27.7 | It is an abbreviated schedule in the SEC this weekend. |
| 1:30.1 | We're going to get into that a little bit later in the show. |
| 1:32.3 | But I'm excited about that. I'm excited for the first time in a while I don't have anywhere to be. And it's not that I don't enjoy coming and hanging out with you all, but those days that I wake up and I know that I don't have to leave the house unless I want to, |
| 1:44.8 | those are good days. They don't come very often. And so part of our gig, and I'm not complaining about the job in any respect, I love my job. But we don't get a chance to sit around and enjoy college football a lot when we have games to cover. Because you know how it is. I mean, listen, We've been on the road a couple times already. I've been to LSU, right? We've been to Kentucky. And so when we're traveling, you don't get a chance to watch games. I mean, yeah, you can listen to them, that sort of stuff. But it's a different deal. I DVR some games, so I go back and watch them throughout the week because there's not a lot on network |
| 2:18.5 | TV that kind of excites me but it's nice to have a Saturday you know to get up in the morning |
| 2:25.2 | sleep late which sleeping late for me these days now that I've become a grandfather I get up with |
| 2:29.5 | the chickens I don't know why that is but it is I get up every day every day and start reaching for my phone. And some days it's funny, my mind comes awake and I start thinking, oh, wait a minute, let me grab the phone and I look at the phone and it's like 3.30 in the morning. And thankfully, I'm able to go back to sleep most days. But, you know, it's just one of the things you deal with i guess i'm on grandpa time now |
| 2:51.3 | but i will uh suggest to you that i am mississippi's coolest grandfather and that is uh |
| 2:57.7 | that's a label that i'm going to keep so so there we go but uh yeah it's nice to be able to sleep |
| 3:03.0 | by a little bit so i'll probably stay up late tonight knowing I have nowhere to go maybe shoot some pool |
| 3:09.6 | maybe watch some Netflix if I can stay up might even put a pot of coffee on so I can stay up past 1030 |
| 3:15.1 | but be that you know it's one of those things when you get up in the morning on Saturday and you know you |
