Welcome to the Boneyard with Steve Roberts. And as always, I am your good friend and host Steve Robertson here on the Hump Day edition of the yard.

One day closer to the weekend, one day closer to college football. We're going to talk a little bit about college football today. A lot of other things going on. We're going to address those.

Kind of get some things out front and we'll look forward to the weekend we'll be

making the trip down to college station Texas because that's what we do we cover mississippi state

home in a way multiple sports matter of fact our just and framer is in chicago right now

getting ready to watch the bulldogs tip off against Arizona State.

We'll preview that game a little bit later in the show.

But yeah, it's a fun thing, right?

I mean, what are we angry about, right?

It's so easy to get wound up in your emotions, you know, when you put so much emotional energy,

you know, into college athletics, you don't get the return on that investment, man. It's easy to get disenchanted. But we're not going to sit at home. We're going to get on the road, and hopefully the bulldogs can give us a win down there. And, you know, again, that's what we do. That's part of being a professional is you go to the games even when you know you're going to

lose or when you expect to lose now of course they can win this weekend but um not expecting it

but uh that's what we do as part of being a professional is you you go on the road and you make

those trips uh no matter how you feel and it's a terrible feeling i mean like saturday morning when i got up and we're getting ready to play Kentucky. You know, I'm not a big Kentucky fan. And this is not a great team, even by Kentucky standards. They don't give you a whole lot. They don't beat themselves. But it's one of those things where you look at and say from a talent differential, there's really not a lot of difference between us and them.

There's really not.

And for us to go out there and put up three points and really only have one sustained drive in the game and then have so many operational issues, you know, it's very disheartening.

But when you get up and you make that drive to Davis-Wade and, you know, I remember a time not

too terribly long ago

when we felt like we could beat almost anybody. And we certainly felt like we could compete

with everybody. You know, Alabama, of course, is kind of the outlier there. But, you know,

we've got some wins over LSU. You know, we've won down at A&M. You know, had some very good memories together. And I don't know that we're

going to have any when we look back at this year. And so, you know what? Remember how that much
