Welcome to the Boneyard with Steve Roberts, and as always, I am your good friend and host, Steve Robertson, here on the hump day edition of the yard.

You might hear a little background noise today. There's some work being done here at the house as they pour some concrete and kind of muddy up my driveway.

But nevertheless, it's a sign of progress. It's been a long process, but we're getting some things finished up around here.

If you haven't heard, Mississippi State has announced game times for next weekend's opening series against Virginia Military Institute.

We're going to be at 3 p.m. start on Friday, 2 p.m. on Saturday and 1 p.m. on Sunday.

And a lot of people are thinking, well, I hope we get a night game on Friday. I'm eager to see the Bulldogs. I get it. I understand it. I can tell you this. Coach Simonis loves those afternoon games. He does. He really does. and you know during the regional you know we want to play first

because you never know what the weather is you know, we want to play first

because you never know what the weather is going to do and that sort of stuff.

And so it makes sense.

But, you know, when it's cold weather baseball,

it's always kind of good to be able to play in the afternoon.

And I guess, you know, that's the thing too.

I think kind of the bane of society today is the 10-day forecast, right? Because everybody

has become these amateur meteorologists. But next Friday, it's going to be a partly sunny day

with a low of 35, but a high and the low of 50s. So it should be tolerable for us.

That is one of the colder days of the week.

It's going to be in the high, the mid-60s in the days leading up to that.

We are expected to get a little rain in the area on Thursday, but that should not impede the ball game.

But going to have cooler temperatures rather than cold temperatures.

So to dress warm for that, but it's kind of be aware of that that was announced today

3 p.m. first pitch on Friday as the Bulldogs open up the 2023 season.
