The thing I think I've probably disrespected the most in my prior house my life was soil mixes and soil types. I sort of was just like, well, okay, like maybe it matters, but I'm just going to kind of do what I want. And I think I was a bit of a sinner as far as what you mentioned yesterday just putting in a random potting mix, right?

And so maybe we could start out here with, is there anything off the shelf at a nursery that is good as a house plant mix or do you kind of

of custom mix everything? I the way that I also teach is I want everyone to be able to access whatever they have available and use that.

Right, so I'm going to recommend that if you have something like a local nursery or a big box store, then yes, go ahead and get that indoor potting mix.

But then the amendments that you use, I think is what's really important too for the overall health of your

plant. So let's take a plant I historically had struggled with like let's say

a piece lily. How would you construct the soil for something like that?

Like how would you think about making that soil mix? So I want something that's going to retain

moisture a little bit more knowing that a peacefully, you know, needs watering a bit

more often if you had a super well draining mix.
