I'm your host, Cory Muscara, and in today's episode we're going to talk about putting

our energy into building the new.

So I'd like to start by sharing a quote by Socrates, the Greek

philosopher, he says, the secret of change is to focus all of your energy not on fighting

the old, but on building the new.

So just observe what you think about or feel in relationship to this quote.

I do think as a general prescription for making change and our own healing in our own

growth, there is a ton of wisdom in this quote.

And even just taking more of a future orientation toward what you're excited to build in your

life is going to activate different parts of the brain and is at the very least going

to help us activate things like hope and optimism and imagination and creativity and

perception.

All of these things are big buffers against depression and anxiety and can help us take

thought and put it into action to build, to create.

And so there's something very powerful in that energetic relationship to our life when

it comes to just feeling good, but also growing a life that we're happy about and excited

to live into, where there's some nuance here that can't always be captured in a single
