Heather McFaion and today I'm chatting with Mary Demuth.

We're talking about how to build the family you never had.

And I felt like the Lord said to me, I want you to say that you are a good mother and

I want you to say it out loud.

Over the years I've come to understand the still small voice of the Lord and I knew it was him.

And I thought, this is dumb.

I don't want to say this out loud.

There's no one really around and I don't want to.

But then I thought, okay, well, I say I love Jesus.

So he wants me to do this.

There must be a reason and whether I think it's weird or whatever, I'm just going to say

it out loud.

So I said, I am a good mom and I said it out loud and I just burst into tears again.

And I, something broke in that moment and I realized all that insecurity and all those

fears that I was going to duplicate the home I was raised in, they just kind of melted

away.

There's still vestiges of that, of course.

I mean, nothing's ever perfect on this earth.

But there was a lion's share of healing that happened in just declaring that.
