Welcome to Buckeye Talk. It is the big Wednesday edition. I'm Nathan Baird from Cleveland.com along with Doug Lamerese and Steven Means.

And we've got another draft on tap today. And I think it's going to be a pretty fun one. I've been looking forward to this for a couple days.

I think you guys have two. I think this is going to be interesting. If you're a tech subscriber, 614-350-3315, you got a text from me on Tuesday morning explaining what we're doing today.

You've all seen this sort of thing before where there is, I see a lot with basketball, right, where they'll say, who's your all-time top five?

And you have to pick a player from each category or you have a certain number of points to spend to put together a lineup.

And we've done the same thing here with football. We're not going to do 11 on 11 or even a full 11-man team.

We're kind of looking at this is you're picking a squad of eight guys. You've got 24 points to spend.

And you're putting together a team to go play in the parking lot more or less, four on offense, four on defense.

And we came up with the points by looking at their recruiting rankings from when they were coming out of high school, the consensus rankings on the 24-7 site.

So guys, have you been looking forward to this for a couple days?

I like it when we get to go ahead to head. Oh, and the wrinkle here is we're drafting.

So it's not just like you're assembling a team. We're going to talk about that too, who are like optimal eight guys would be.

But here we're going to draft. So things like value and taking the guy the next guy might take is going to come into play.

I think if we do this right, someone might quit or we're going to have to put the explicit label on this pod. If we do this right, I've been looking forward to this. I think this could be fun.

I came close to it last time we drafted that just was smart enough to replace a certain word with shoot.

Yeah, this is we might have to have like an adult version like a was like this is like the red label version of Buckeye talk when it's like, I have 22 points left and I still need to play.

And and and to be clear, like the idea of this was like to sort of it's like a recruiting draft. It's like he's the guys and the rosters that we divided it up as recruits and how they were rated.

But it's not exactly it's not like five star four star three star necessarily.

And you divided it up in an interesting way because there are sort of one star guys for our point system that aren't one star recruits because one star recruits do not exist at Ohio State.

Right. And I'll explain that in a second. We've been looking for a way to kind of talk about the recruiting rankings in reverse or like deconstructing them a little bit.

And we've thrown out an idea of like and we may do this again at some point. Like you go back through the roster and say, what star are they now?
