So if the Lord had let me hand back all of the suffering and all of the things that came with my

ulcerative colitis, I would have also been handing back all of the immigrants, all of the character,

and all of the hope that he had produced in me through that. And that's not what he wants for me.

He sees a greater value in the things that were a result in my life

of the suffering than in my temporary earthly pain being taken away.
