| 0:00.0 | Welcome to Rates and barrels to Wednesday, April 30th. |
| 0:14.3 | Derek Benryper, you know, Sarah's Jed Lowry here with you on this episode. |
| 0:18.2 | We are building a breakout. |
| 0:19.7 | We're going to try and make sense of some small samples from the first month of the season, |
| 0:24.1 | looking at four different hitters, |
| 0:25.8 | trying to figure out if this is a massive step forward, a one-month heater, |
| 0:30.6 | maybe things just looking better than they actually are in some cases, |
| 0:34.0 | lots of directions that can go. |
| 0:36.1 | I saw a really interesting piece from David Adler of |
| 0:38.1 | MLB.com about some changes Aaron Judge has made to his stance over time. And right now, he's putting |
| 0:44.4 | up maybe the best calendar year of his career, just going off. If you look at the rolling one-year |
| 0:50.6 | leaderboard, you're going to see about a 13 war player, which I didn't think was possible. |
| 0:54.7 | So we'll dig into some of those changes, other players that could do something similar, |
| 0:59.2 | and time permitting. |
| 1:00.5 | I got a little game prepared for later in the show. |
| 1:03.3 | We'll see if it actually comes to fruition. |
| 1:06.4 | Oh, come on, it's not that bad. |
| 1:08.7 | It's not that bad. |
| 1:10.4 | The other idea I had for today, though, was to have an award show called the Enos. And it would be an acronym. Everyone needs one because everyone would get some kind of award. My thinking was it's about a 60 minute show. And if we wanted to give every player in the league an award, we'd have about four to five seconds per player to just dish them out really fast. So it would make no sense at all. And I ultimately decided to scrap it because I don't think people would be into that bit. But I do like the Eno's as the name for an award we made up. So we probably will keep that for some kind of future. Everybody needs one. |
| 1:44.7 | Are you getting NIL for this, you know? Yeah. Wait, what is everyone needs one? It's from the Lorax. It's a snoot. It is. It is a snoot. It's a snoot. A snoot. A snoot. A snoot. A sneed? A sneed. The thneed. |
| 1:40.9 | Yeah, that's it. |
| 1:41.6 | I think it's the thneed. |
