This week on the Colin and Smear podcast, we're joined by Joe Albanese. Joe is the founder and CEO of

Stur, a company that's building tools and software that help creators run their businesses.

Joe and his team have been making quite a few headlines this year, and just to name a few,

they've raised $4 million in funding for this project from firms like Ludlow Ventures

and creators like Casey Nicestat. Joe was recently named to the Forbes 30 Under 30 list,

and they've been trending multiple times for releasing a number of one-off drops. For example,

they released presubscribe.me, which helps creators understand how many people would actually

pay for their content, or only tweets, which creates a understand how many people would actually pay for their content,

or only tweets, which creates a paywall protected Twitter account for creators. Joe and his team

are working to support creators and help them build their businesses, which is something that

actually often gets overlooked. Creators are typically really strong in their creativity and their ability to

engage audiences. But oftentimes, it's more challenging for them to understand exactly how they

should run their business, examples being how to invoice a client, how their money flows,

and what their accounts receivable, accounts payable, all of that looks like. And Sturr is looking

to solve that. So on this episode, we talked to Joe about his journey looks like. And Stur is looking to solve that.

So on this episode, we talked to Joe about his journey into the creator world, how he went from the founding team at Yikyak to the product team at Facebook, and then eventually why he took the

jump to leave his stable job at Facebook and pursue building Sturr. It's a really inspiring story

and a business that Colin and I believe in so much that
