In today's show, I'm talking to Michael Kilman about how to build better worlds by using aspects

of anthropology, which is basically the study of human cultures. And we certainly live in an interesting time in history in order to do that.

I really could have talked to Michael for ages, as this is such a massive topic

and his book is very good, co-written book, I should say,

but I hope we give you some ideas or at least spark more questions for your writing.

In publishing and book marketing news, thanks to Sarah Rosette, who forwarded me an interesting

piece from Publishers Weekly about the licensing of the late Sue Grafton's Alphabet book series

featuring Kinsey Malone or Milhoun, I don't know how

you meant to say that, for TV and film. Despite Grafton's stated wishes before she died, quote,

I will never sell Kinsey to Hollywood and I have made my children promise not to sell her.

We've taken a blood oath and if they do so I will come back from the

grave, which they know I can do. End quote. Book Riot goes into more detail about it and essentially

she didn't want this to happen before she died but her family have now licensed the books and presumably they might finish them because she never

got to Zed and it sort of begs the question of what is more important and author's wishes after
