Before Spike, Angel, and the Scooby Gang... there was the original Buffy the Vampire Slayer movie. Chris loved the show, but not the film. Donna and Carlos have never seen the series, so for them this 1992 comedy IS Buffy.
Topics include: how Joss Whedon's original vision for the film was compromised by the director, what changes were made and what elements survived, how unfair it is to compare Kristy Swanson's performance to Sarah Michelle Gellar's, how disinterested Donald Sutherland seems to be in all of this, the fact that nobody has much of a reaction to all of these terrible events, some confusion over why vampires haven't taken over the planet yet, and much much more!

0:00.0 | Hey guys, it's Chris. Before we start the episode, I just want to make you aware of what's going to be going on with the show the next few weeks. This is going to be an awesome Halloween season for the podcast. This episode is all about the Buffy the Vampire Slayer movie. And after looking at that, we felt like we should talk about the TV show as well. Problem is, Don and Carlos never watched the show, and seven seasons is way too much to ask |

0:27.3 | And the idea of cherry picking just three or four episodes didn't feel right to me. |
0:31.3 | It's not that kind of show. |
0:33.1 | So, Kristen and I are going to be doing a retrospective of the entire series, and we're going to release that as a bonus episode next Friday. |

0:49.3 | We're going to get into all of it. It's going to be great. And we're going to be talking about everything, both seasons, the movie, what we hope to see in these eight new episodes they're |
0:57.8 | talking about. So get ready for that one. And the week after that, Halloween is that Friday. |
1:05.3 | And Donna Carlos and I recorded another bonus episode that we're going to put out on Halloween. |
1:10.7 | I'm not going to tell you what it is yet. |
1:12.1 | I'm just going to tease it. |
1:13.2 | But it's a good one. |
1:14.7 | The movie and the episode in my totally unbiased and objective opinion. |
1:19.8 | So there's going to be a new episode of the podcast every week for the next month instead of every other week as per usual. |
1:27.1 | And then we've got some other cool stuff |
1:28.9 | we're planning on, you know, doing for November, probably too early to be talking about that. So, |
1:33.4 | shh, never mind. And then after that, we're in the holiday season. And we've already gotten a few |
1:38.0 | suggestions, you know, for titles we should be looking at or thinking about for that. |
1:44.1 | We've had very brief discussions about it. |
1:46.3 | We haven't made any firm decisions. And it's strange because you think about it. And like in your |
1:51.1 | mind, there's like, you know, there's a bazillion holiday movies. Just grab one. But once we start |
1:55.9 | trying to figure out what would work best for the show and what's worth like really digging into, |
