Hello, and welcome to this breaking news episode. And I should say that this is the second time that I've

recorded this, okay? Because after the budget yesterday, I recorded an episode which I don't know,

I put it this way, it just wasn't fit for publication. Now probably some of you think you want to hear

it. But trust me, there's a level of anger which does not make for a good listening experience,

a level of swearing, even hate, hostility. So this is very much take two. I'll cover all the same stuff, but I just haven't had a night to sleep. The anger will still be there, but hopefully there will be a little bit more coherence. I don't know how you listen to the budget. It was all like the ashes, wasn't it? There was a lot of previewing and you feared the worst and then

for some people for some people i would say it's still definitely worse than what you feared so it's

a little bit like the ashes it managed to the budget managed to fuck you in a way that you weren't

expected which is exactly like the england cricket team and i was genuinely listening to it while

i had a root canal you can look at my

socials for the photos I was I was getting ready and I put the ear pod in and I thought what what

sort of what am I doing to myself here you know there was discomfort and then there was pain and then

there was the root canal and and and at times genuinely while I was getting the root canal the dentist I was sort of flinching and my face was screwing up and then it was like UK you in pain I was like no just Rachel Reeves and I'm angry I'm angry about this budget and full disclosure I'm angry about this budget partially because it will cost me money, right?

But I don't think that that's like, that's okay, isn't it? If there's people that are happy with

this budget, it might be because it saved their money or didn't cost them money. So we are at

this weird point, sometimes in the narrative in and around the left, where it's sort of seen as

selfish to want to keep more of your money or not give up your money, but's sort of seen as selfish to want to keep more of your money

or not give up your money, but it's not seen as selfish to take more of other people's money.

So there's definitely a rant incoming.
