So Congress is looking to the exits as soon as possible.

There's a lot of action with some last minute dealmaking happening, Jake.

They're gonzo next week.

And we'll be here.

But they're gonzo.

It's been a hell of a week.

First of all, Tom Massey lost his primary, and we wrote in the newsletter this week,

President Trump seems to be disconnected, to put it charitably, with the needs and wants of congressional Republicans. The $1.8 billion slush fund that the Department of Justice is, um, is going to administer to people who have been, uh, a subject of, uh, weaponization, as he calls it, efforts by the government. Uh, Bill Cassidy, gone, uh, lost his primary. The president, uh, endorsed in Texas, Ken Paxton over John John Cornyn, the longtime Republican senator.

So he's still pushing for ballroom funding, something that Congress wants nothing to do with.
