Summary

Ohio State is losing five players early to the NFL Draft. (Six including Nick Bosa.)

But for OSU standards, that's not too bad. Especially when guys who many expected would turn pro -- such as wide receiver K.J. Hill and safety Jordan Fuller -- decided to return.

Jonah Booker joins Dave Biddle for JBook's usual Friday visit to discuss that, plus:

* What are thoughts on the Buckeyes' offensive line heading into the 2019 season?

* What about the corps of running backs?

* On the recruiting front, will Ryan Day and his staff seal the deal with Doug Nester, and land Dawand Jones?

All of that and more on the end-of-week extravaganza.

I am Dave Biddle, very happy joined by Jonah Booker for his usual Friday visit.

Jaybook, I mean, losing Mike Jordan was not good for Ohio State's offensive line next year.

0:44.4

But overall I think Ohio City was pretty fortunate all things considered in regards to guys staying or

0:50.1

leaving for the NFL. We all knew Dwayne Haskins and Draymont Jones were going to leave. We all knew Mike

0:55.2

Weber was going to leave. I mean I pretty much knew that Kendall Sheffield was going to leave, but I mean you get guys like

1:00.4

K.J. Hill back. That's huge. I mean you get guys like

1:03.7

J. Hillback. That's huge. I mean, you get guys like Jordan Fuller back, that's huge.

1:05.7

I know some fans don't like Damon Arnett, but I think that's really good for

1:09.2

depth.

1:10.2

Malek Harrison, there was some talk, he might go pro, I I mean all those guys coming back I think all things consider this is probably best case scenario for Ohio State J-book.

1:19.0

I agree the one thing that you have to really be excited about this is the first time in years that the

1:24.4

defensive backfield will come back with the same starter with pretty much the same

1:29.3

starters minus Sheffield if you look at the last several years you have several guys departing for the NFL and because of that you saw a lot of youth back there which caused a lot of mental breakdowns you're going to be fielding pretty much your defensive back field as well as your linebacker core who's going to be back on the back seven end.

1:52.0

So that experience is going to be extremely valuable as you

1:56.1

mentioned I know a lot of fans are not very high on David Arnett but anytime you can

2:00.5

get another corner to cover I'll take that all day every day hopefully

2:05.3

with the new coaching and the new defensive back coaches his game will will be

2:10.9

elevated to the next level and hopefully we can see Jordan Fuller getting back to his all big ten type of level.
