Summary

On Sunday, there was a bit of a recruiting surprise as Ohio State landed 3-star prospect Kye Stokes from Florida. However, calling Stokes a 3-star recruit is not something that people will be able to do for much longer as his offer list is extremely impressive and it looks like the Buckeyes landed a good one.

Patrick Murphy joins Dave Biddle for today's show to discuss that and look back on the NFL Draft from Ohio State's perspective. And here's a little tease: the reports that tight end Luke Farrell from OSU (who was taken by the Jacksonville Jaguars with the first pick of the fifth round) is a 29-year-old former minor league baseball player are false. And you will get to hear Patrick and Dave figure that out in real time.

All of that and more is coming your way on the Monday 5ish.

Good morning, Buck Nudders. Welcome to the Buck Nuts.

Today's

0:50.2

put 285 pound safety in the 2022 class kid at a saffron or Florida. Now right now buck

0:56.9

nutters, he's a three star prospect. You might want to take a picture of that because

1:00.1

that's not going to last for long. He's going to be a four star before you know it.

1:04.1

Just since April 12th, Patrick, he's gotten offers from Ohio State, obviously Alabama,

1:09.9

Notre Dame, Georgia, Florida, LSU and others. So it's a classic case of, you know, this

1:16.7

is a very early ranking. Now we see his offer list. It's a kid that's blowing up. So

1:20.7

we'll not be a three star for long and looks like a good get for the buck guys.

1:24.7

Yeah, it's funny and recruiting how this works, right? When, you know, a player who maybe,

1:29.4

you know, hasn't been seen by as many of the analysts or whatnot, team start coming

1:33.6

after him, all of a sudden that ranking starts to change as you alluded to and it seems

1:38.1

like that will be the case here. Yeah, I think it sounds like a good get from everything

1:42.8

I understand. You know, an athletic kid sounds like he's going to, as you said, end up

1:48.3

at safety when he gets to Ohio State, but plays both sides of the ball now and does so successfully

1:54.3

for his high school. So yeah, I think, you know, when you're Ohio State, you got in here

1:59.1

recently with him offered him a scholarship just a handful of days ago, but it sounds like

2:05.1

he likes what he heard from Ohio State. Obviously, this class lost a commitment recently to

2:11.8

us on McCullough going to Indiana and while in a ranking standpoint, this doesn't necessarily

2:17.8

make up for for that. I think by the time all said and done, these two will look more

2:23.6

comparable. So, you know, a good move for the buck guys and obviously, there's still going

2:27.8

to be in on some other guys at that position as well when the recruiting really opens
