course we bring you these five headlines, what's going on, the most important things with Ohio State

football. These are your headlines for the week of May 1st, 2020.

The NCAA is moving towards allowing players to make money off their name, likeness, and image.

That was announced on Wednesday by the NCAA.

What does that mean?

It means players can do commercials, players can do endorsements,

players can make money signing autographs.

That's going to be voted on in January and if it passes,

it will go into effect for the 2021, 22 school year and athletic season.

This is something that has been on the March for a while.

I think everybody could see this coming, the NCAA dragging its feet as much as possible on this.

But this is something that will allow athletes to make money

without taking money out of the pockets of the schools.

That's why the schools are amenable to something like this.

It's all outside endorsements this is not

schools paying players so this is a big moment there are details to be made

You know to have to be worked out right of course as with anything this is all a public

negotiation so don't get wound up about all the details right now don't get wound up

about the posturing there's been posturing all along but this is a situation that Ohio State as an athletic department should benefit from.
