Summary

When something terrible happens, something that is so evil, it transcends the limits of human understanding, we begin to look for an explanation. For example, when a mass murderer takes 50 innocent lives in a ruthless killing spree, we look at that person and think, what caused them to commit such a gruesome act. Was there a mental illness behind everything, or perhaps in their past happened something so terrible, it eventually made them a killer? Or were they just born evil?
Many serial killers have been able to successfully hide out in plain sight for even extremely long periods of time. Those who successfully blend in are typically employed, have families and homes and outwardly appear non-threatening, average members of society. They look just like everyone else. So what drives them to take a human life?
This time we take a look at Dennis Lynn Rader, or as he is known, BTK killer's life and past and see if there were any signs typical for future serial killers or if his childhood and life before his crimes were just as ordinary as anybody else's.
