Behind the Knife, The Surgery Podcast, where we take a behind the scenes intimate look at surgery

from leaders in the Knife. We are continuing our series with ASTS and in conversation today we have Dr. Jeffrey Punch.

He is a professor of surgery. He received his medical degree from University of Michigan,

completed his general surgery residency at University of Michigan as well,

followed by a two-year multi-organ transplant

fellowship. He was trained to perform kidney, pancreas, and liver transplant procedures.

Upon completion of his training,

he began his surgical practice,

which also consists of his mostly abdominal transplantation.

He performs these procedures on both adults and children.

He performed the first living donor liver transplant procedure

ever in the state of Michigan in 1996.
