Dr Mackay is an emeritus professor of psychology at UCLA and the author of a new book called Remembering

Many of you may recall that H.M. was the patient whose case taught us the critical importance of the hippocampus in memory formation.

So not surprisingly, numerous books have been written about him since he died in December 2008. That was shortly after

Dr. McKai met H.M. for the first time when he was a young graduate student
