0:50.4	Dr Mackay is an emeritus professor of psychology at UCLA and the author of a new book called Remembering

1:06.1	Many of you may recall that H.M. was the patient whose case taught us the critical importance of the hippocampus in memory formation.
1:17.0	So not surprisingly, numerous books have been written about him since he died in December 2008. That was shortly after
1:26.1	my original interview with Dr. Brenda Milner. The reason I decided to talk with Dr.
1:31.8	Mackay about his book remembering is that he wrote about aspects of H.M.
1:37.0	case that expand its importance beyond basic memory research.
1:43.0	Dr. McKai met H.M. for the first time when he was a young graduate student
1:48.0	back in 1966, and the results of that encounter impacted the rest of his career.
1:55.0	Today we will explore the evidence that the hippocampus actually plays a role in normal language
