They don't play tonight.

They're back out of tomorrow night.

Connor McDavid hits the garden.

But Chris Casper, the Boston Globe, our buddy, friend of the show,

wrote a column the other day saying, basically,

if the Bruins don't win the Stanley Cup,

they will go down in history like the 2007 Patriots.

Those are the stakes.

Despite an incredible regular season, an incredible run,

they will be viewed more as losers than winners.

True or false?

True.

Yep, completely agree. As a fair comparison, the 2022-23, Brasson Bruins and the 2007 New England Patriots. Yes. Yeah. Yeah. Two complete wagons. I agree. I think they're reaching that territory. Absolutely. I think it's a fair comparison to make. Let me just read some excerpts from the column because I want to give just some thoughts on it overall. Because I think overall, it's the Bruins are in that territory.

They're not just the best team in the league. It's a historic season. And it's, I don't know if you

want to say it's as great as going 17 and 0, 16 and 0, but it's the hockey equivalent. You're not going undefeated. No, I mean, it is. But if you put up a better record than the 1977 Montreal Canadians, that's the hockey equivalent. I mean, in both cases, we're talking about a team that was having a season that's never been had before. So, yeah, it qualifies.

So if you don't win it, it's a fail. If you don't win it, you look more like a choker than a winner, even though you won on an order that no one else has before you. True. So that's sort of the premise of the column, and that's really true. He says, sadly, that's the way sports have evolved. win it all or your regular season accomplishments were a waste of time and are dumped by the wayside. I feel like he was tisking me specifically with this column because I'm one of these people. And I know that Chris believes in this like Euro soccer thing of like if you're the best, you know, regular season team, that's a big accomplishment. And to me it means nothing. Win the title or get out of my face.

Look, I think that, you know, years down the road, you can look back on it and say, well, they had a nice area there. They had 15 years and this happened and that happened. But I think that in the, you know, in the singular, like right now, it's cup or bust. Like, you've got to win it. Okay.
