Every now and again, probably three or four times a year,

you get a piece of audio from a news conference

where a coach or a player actually says something.

It makes news, and you will never really forget it. A lot of times it's something on the

outrageous end. It's a player who goes bonkers or has been involved in broiled in

controversy or something really stupid is going on in their life and they have to address it.

And we remember those things. Sometimes it's more relatable. Sometimes it's something that could

happen with you or I if we were forced in front of the cameras.

If our life, our professional life, were playing out in real time in front of the general public,

then it would become emotional, tearful, painful.

And it would be real above everything else. We got that moment on Wednesday night at the

Big 12 tournament. After Kansas State loses to West Virginia, 7367, Bruce Weber at the podium, after his

player spoke, they talked about the game, they talked about the season. At the very end, Bruce

Weber gave basically a six-minute monologue on his coaching tenure at

K-state.

It's hard to tell whether this was a goodbye, knowing that he's already been told he would be

terminated if he didn't make the NCAA tournament or if this was a case being made for keeping him on the job

at Kansas State, where he clearly wants to stay and continue coaching.

Either way, it looks like Bruce Weber is out. I don't think that his awesome speech, I would call it a
