Excellent.

Which moment in Bruce Arnmanke's life of laying down the law? Because he laid

down the law a lot. He laid down a lot of law. He did. Yes, he did. And you know, um, it is hard to

overemphasize or get people to understand in today's Mormonism what a force for doctrine and truth and knowledge

Bruce R. McConkey was. He was an apostle before that a 70, but he was an apostle and yet

he wielded more authority doctrinally than the prophet, I would say. He had way more effect on

theology, rigid, takes on questions that were being asked, dealing with doctrine. And as you

point out, I mean, you could name the prophets that were alive

during his life and none of them had as much put into the theology of the church or the beliefs

of the church than Bruce R. McConkey. He spoke with authority. He spoke with a great deal of knowledge,

even though it was Mormon knowledge and it was conservative Mormon knowledge,

but he spoke with authority and he wrote a number of different books, all of them dealing with

doctrine. Or, as some have put it like me, he wrote the same book a number of different times.

So he's got Mormon doctrine. I'll always be famous for that. I mean, he was such a doctrinal

authority. He got tasked with writing the italicized chapter headings for the entire standard

works in 79 with the Bible and in 81 with the triple combination with the rest of them. So, yeah,
