when the Redskins put out a statement from Dan Snyder that read as follows.

As this season concludes, Bruce Allen has been relieved

of his duties as president of the Washington Redskins and is no longer with the organization.

Like our passionate fan base, I recognize we have not lived up to the high standards set by

great Redskins, teams, coaches, and players who have come before us.

As we reevaluate our team leadership, culture, and process for winning football games,

I am excited for the opportunities that lie ahead to renew our singular focus and purpose

of bringing championship football back to Washington, D.C.

That from the owner early this morning.

Bruce Allen is gone, done.

No staying on in a special consultant role,

no staying on with a title just to handle the stadium issue.

He is out of the organization.

It would have been, in many ways, a middle finger to the stadium issue. He is out of the organization. It would have been in many ways a middle finger to the fan base had he stayed in any capacity whatsoever. It would have also been a

reflection in many ways that Snyder still doesn't get it. Now, I said this late last night on Twitter, that if he had stayed as a

consultant or with just stadium, just as the point person on the stadium, and they had brought

someone in with clout, I think his presence, mere presence, and the threat of that may have been a bit overrated.

But the bottom line is, is the perception is he's been a horrible general manager.
