I've been a huge fan of Hornsby since I was a little kid.

I remember hearing on the radio the way it is.

Just like a lot of people, that song was a total hit.

But the one thing in particular that I really liked about that song, I remember thinking,

The thing that I always liked about the piano was the voicings.

Hornsby's got a unique style in his cluster voicings.

He kind of has this like WC cluster voicing thing that he does,

but in a pop context and with pop voicings that sound really cool.

but they don't sound like jazzy major sevens. They just sound, yeah, it doesn't sound like you're trying to, it doesn't sound like you're cheesing something up by trying to make it jazzy. Like it actually sounds really cool. I don't know. You know, sometimes like you listen to something, it's like, oh, let's make it jazz. And they just make all the major chords major seven they make all the dominance like a dominant nine or at a
