Bill Belichick was the first Browns coach I ever covered.

You see, if you start out with Bill Belichick, no one can rattle you after that.

One of those yelling matches, I told him,

if you don't have the footballs to say that to the guys, then don't say it to me.

But now, I totally understand why Bill gave me such a hard time.

I was 28 at the time, and he just couldn't relate to a woman that old.

That was the moment.

That was the mic drop. That was the line that resonated from the Friday night festivities at the Hall of Fame just about four weeks ago in Canton. We have her with us now, the recipient of the 2025 Bill Nunn Memorial Award. Mary Kaye Cavett of the Cleveland Play dealer.

The line of the weekend, as far as I'm concerned in Canton. Line of the year, as far as I'm

concerned. Oh, thank you. Well, I have a daughter who actually does a little bit of stand-up

comedy in New York City, and I ran that one past her, and I wasn't sure if I should actually go through with it or not. And she said, absolutely, you have to do that one. It's going to kill. And I guess in the comedy world, it killed.

Now, wait, now wait. I want to make sure I understand this. Did you come up with the line and run it by your friend or did the friend suggest the line? How did this collaboration result in you deciding I have to use this line? Oh, no. Oh, your daughter. Okay. I'm sorry. I didn't hear you earlier because someone was talking to me. Oh, that's okay.

No, I wrote it.

She wanted me to practice my speech in front of her.

And so I did that.

And I said, you know, do you really think that I should go through with that?

And she said, absolutely, it will kill.

So, yeah, no, that was, that was definitely my writing.

And it killed.
