On January 8, 1993, the owners of a Browns Chicken restaurant, in Palatine, Illinois,

and five of their employees were gunned down shortly after close,

though DNA and pomeprints were left at the scene, the case grew cold. Then, nearly nine years

after the massacre, two women came forward to point the finger at two men.

Both men confessed, but now claim they're innocent. I'm Charlie, and welcome to Crime Lines.

Welcome back to part two of the Browns Chicken Massacre. If you did not listen to part one,

So a quick recap of this case and the victims, because we always want to remember the lives that

were lost, even though in this episode, we are going to get into the weeds of the investigation

and the trials. On January 8, 1993, Richard and Lynn Ellen Felt were at the Browns Chicken franchise

that they owned. They were parents of three most-legrown daughters, and they were building an investment

in this restaurant after Richard had trouble finding a job after being laid off. They put

everything they had into this time and money, and they were getting this off the ground.

With them that night were five employees. Michael Castro and Rico Solis were just 16 and 17

years old high school students, earning extra money after school. They both had plans to enlist in
