biker world, what law enforcement calls motorcycle gangs.

They're notoriously territorial and are rumored to engage in criminal activity to fund their biker lifestyle.

And I want to get inside. Why do you think they agreed to speak to us then?

Because I asked them, though. What better way to understand the culture than to visit one of the

biggest motorcycle rallies in the world, which takes place every summer in Sturgis, South Dakota.

Most bikers at Sturgis aren't one percenters, but some definitely are.

So when I see the guard and the gate, I'll ask you guys to put the cameras down,

which I think is here actually, so cameras down, we're here, we're here.

Like the Sons of Silence, I landed an invitation into their campground, which is basically their spot for the week.

It's located away from the main rally,

and it's like something out of Mad Max.

Oh my god, this is fucking crazy.

But our invite came with lots of restrictions.

None of the members were allowed to speak to me on camera,

except for two people, and only after they reviewed all of my questions beforehand.
