0:17.4	rights struggle in New York City in particular. They're doing really important and I think
0:23.0	beautiful work, creative work as you'll hear throughout this conversation. These are really
0:28.1	dedicated comrades doing their best to help their community and just listening to how they deal
0:33.5	with really crazy shit, slum lords and hired thugs that want to initiate violence to scare them
0:41.5	away and the state and the cops and the mayor and all of this stuff. As you listen to this it's
0:47.6	a fascinating listen in its own right but also it generates a lot of generalizable truths about
0:54.9	housing in this country and if you're engaged in a tenant organization of any kind these struggles
1:00.9	will resonate with you, you'll learn from them but even if you're not you'll learn from them and
1:05.5	you might get interested in joining a local tenant union wherever you're from and fighting for
1:10.9	this this core human right which is the right to fucking have a roof over your head and walls
1:18.2	around you and heating and electricity for your fucking family. The basic core needs of human beings
1:24.7	are being denied people in the best of times and let alone during a pandemic and financial crisis
1:32.3	like has happened over the last several years. So this is a fascinating heart wrenching but very
1:38.9	informative and even downright inspiring conversation with some really solid comrades doing really
