The work of Brooklyn's Conviction Review Unit is so fundamental to the concept of justice.

We are looking at past mistakes in our criminal legal system to see whether or not people

who are incarcerated or have been incarcerated had received a fair trial and whether or not

there are people who are in jail who are actually innocent. And as we know, there are over 2 million people in prison.

We believe that there are, you know, thousands of people that have been wrongfully convicted.

And so in Brooklyn, we're working around the clock, looking at cases where people have evidence that we can review to see whether

or not they were actually wrongfully convicted.
