| 0:00.0 | Welcome to the Your World Within podcast. I'm Eddie Pinero. And in today's episode, I sit down with |
| 0:05.0 | The One and Only Brani, where this was a special conversation for me. Brani's been a hero of mine for a long |
| 0:13.4 | time, so to be able to sit down and have a one-on-one, it was pretty cool. I've referenced her work |
| 0:20.8 | in my videos and lectures and all over |
| 0:23.3 | the place, right? So, Brani is a three-time bestselling author, she's a motivational speaker, |
| 0:30.4 | best known for a book Top Five Regrets of the Dying, which is an international bestseller. |
| 0:34.6 | And that's what we spend the majority of, uh, of the conversation talking about |
| 0:38.6 | um, for those that haven't read the book, um, just a quick backstory. So the, the idea behind her book, |
| 0:47.4 | top five regs of the dying, she was a caregiver, uh, for people in their final days, right, |
| 0:52.0 | that, that knew they were going to die and she took care of them |
| 0:54.4 | and, you know, sort of made them comfortable. And the book talks about all these different |
| 1:01.7 | lessons that she learned while helping these folks, most of them older and age. A few not, |
| 1:07.2 | but most of them older. So they had wisdom. They were able to look back at the breadth of |
| 1:11.6 | their life and really gauge and analyze what they would have done differently. So these top five |
| 1:18.3 | regrets are the things that she found over time working with these folks. And I'm just going to |
| 1:23.3 | read through them because we didn't in the conversation and I feel like it would help lay some |
| 1:27.7 | groundwork. So the first regret that she found was people saying, I wish I had the courage |
| 1:34.4 | to live a life that was true to myself, not a life that others expected to me or expected of me. |
| 1:40.3 | Number two, I wish I hadn't worked so hard. Number three, I wish I had the courage to express my feelings. |
| 1:47.6 | Number four, I wish I'd stayed in touch with my friends. |
| 1:51.2 | And number five, I wish I'd let myself be happier. |
| 1:54.2 | And that's one that we spend a lot of time on. |
