Beltway football after another heartbreaking loss for the Washington commanders, back-to-back

overtime losses.

This one stings even more.

It was against a good team and they played well.

They really fought their guts out.

It looked like this was going to be a one-sided affair and they just kept clawing back in it.

I'm J.P. Finley and Mitch Thistler. Last week, or whatever the heck we had our last podcast in Madrid, I scoffed at you trying to give them some credit because I just thought Miami was a bad team and that was this like hot potato contest to see who would win. Tonight, Washington deserves some credit. They fought like crazy. Came up short, didn't get the win. This

losing streak continues. Like there are big picture questions, but coming off that game and

how everything shook out, just a gutty performance that came up short against a really good

team. It hurts to lose the game. And there will be tons of fans out there that are happy they

lost because of a draft position. Yeah, but not in the moment, it hurts.

And quite frankly, this is what we wanted to see from them. We wanted to see a little bit of fight. We wanted to see a little bit of that grit that we haven't seen much this season. And it's great to do it one game. There's four more games. They got to continue doing it. but for one night it was great to see them them fight their butts off. The defense did yeoman's work out there. They pretty much shut down that Broncos running attack. You know, Bo Nix, obviously, picked them apart a little bit in the past game, but there were no real big plays downfield until there. Bill O.T, right? There were guys running wide open. I guess you saw more cohesive, defensive unit. We saw a bunch of the things that we talked about wanting to see, and I think it's a good stepping stone for this commander's team. That way football brought to you by MGM National Harbor, only a stepping stone away from Northwest Stadium here in Landover. I think the stepping stone, I'm not so sure because it's stepping stone to what, you know what I mean? But like, I think if you look ahead the next week, it's all eyes kind of turn to. Is Jane going to be back? What will that look like? I was really happy for Terry to show up in this thing. I was very happy for Terry. Yeah. Oh, did you hit? I hit the Terry trifecta.

Oh, because of the touchdown.

Yeah.

Wow.

That's a, all right.

Now you are probably throttling me in church or whatever that is.

Yeah, dude.

Just knowing what Terry puts into it and how hard he works.

And to have the overtime touchdown called back to then score another one a couple

plays later, what was, did you have any question about going for two?
