0:06.0	Proud people claim rights and have a demanding spirit, but broken people yield their rights and have a meek spirit.
0:13.0	God did surprising things through that message on brokenness. Bob and Kathy Helvey were there.
0:19.0	And as she started saying, this is what a proud person is, she'd list something,
0:23.1	and then she'd list the opposite of a broken person.
0:26.1	The differences between the two were so great.
0:28.1	It was like a fog just kind of lifted from my eyes and kind of gave me the opportunity
0:33.1	to be honest with myself about what kind of person might really.
0:37.6	Proud people have a subconscious feeling. This ministry is privileged to have me and my
0:44.2	gifts. And I sat back, I mean, to my shame, kind of smugly thinking, well, that's not me.
0:51.7	I can tick that off. I'm not that one. No, I'm not that one either.
0:54.7	Well, maybe that one. But as she started rolling with that list, something happened within me
1:01.2	and honesty facing issues in my life right there in my seat. And I started thinking, oh, no, yes,
1:08.5	yes, I'm that. Yes. Oh, yes, I've done that. Oh, that is me.
1:14.1	Proud people are defensive when criticized. The broken people receive criticism with a humble, open spirit.
1:21.9	And as she read off that list, I remember feeling this devastation. One after another, there must have been 30 or 35, 40, 40 examples of a proud person. And I had to be honest and think, you know, I am almost every one of those. But I don't want to be. I want to be on that other side where the brokenness begins.
