When I started as a woman loosely in the financial sphere, people were always trying to compare me to other women in the industry

My brand was Bad With Money, and so it seemed natural that fans were constantly tagging me alongside another woman in the financial space who called herself

Broke Millennial

The tweets and comments insisted that we absolutely needed to meet

Broke Millennial's real name is Erin Lowry, and she's the author of the book Broke Millennial

Look, my book's also called Bad With Money, we like to keep our brand simple here

And she also wrote a sequel called Broke Millennial Takes On Investing, which was published in April of this year

A little while ago, Erin and I finally met up in person in Los Angeles at a coffee shop

I also got to meet her sister, it was a great time

She admitted the big reason she wrote her second book about investing was as motivation to wrap her own mind around the confusing concept of investing

It's the same reason I started this show Bad With Money to force myself to learn about topics I never wanted to learn about

And here we are, four seasons later

I should admit I had an initial aversion to the title Broke Millennial

But Erin is fully aware of the difference between being broke and being poor, and of the stigma against the word Millennial

And to be fair, I've heard a lot of criticism about my choosing the title Bad With Money too, including that it's off-putting
