Washington, the State Department has issued a statement in response to the proposal by

Jacob Malik, the Soviet delegate to the United Nations, for a ceasefire in Korea.

The State Department said that if Malik's proposal is more than propaganda, adequate means

for discussion and end to the conflict are available. The State Department said we are ready to play
