but let me recap it here. On February 17, 2022, Griner arrived in Moscow to spend the W NBA off season playing for the Russian women's basketball team.

But when passing through a security checkpoint, she was arrested for carrying under one gram of medically prescribed hash oil, which is illegal in Russia.

The Russian court found Griner guilty and sentenced her to nine years in prison and find her one million rubles, which is $16,000.
