It is Wednesday, September 22nd. I'm here with Britt Robinson of the Athletic,

and are we even a couple hours removed from the breaking news of Minnesota Timberwolves

parting ways with Gerson Roses. Britt, this is obviously a major change of course for this organization in where they were going.

I just judging from what I've seen, the little I've seen on Twitter thus far,

it's been a major shock to the fan base and maybe something that they're very much against.

Where are you at in your head when you see this news break today?

That it's bad news. That essentially it can't be what anybody wanted to have happen right now.

There's nobody who benefits from the timing of this. The only thing I can imagine happen right now,

short of incompetence, which is always an option,

but I would say that what they're trying to do

is prevent something from being worse.

That's really where it's at right now,

because this is bad.

I mean, Carl Anthony Towns tweeted, you know, WTF shortly after it happened.

When you have your 10-Bull star not knowing what's going to happen with the franchise, along with everybody else,

you know, not getting a courtesy call or whatever.

That's a bad look.

When you're getting rid of the guy who you just allowed to make further moves on your roster

as recently as, you know, 10 days, two weeks ago, I think it was only 10 days.

I don't know when the Beverly trade happened, but say a couple weeks ago, the signings of the other guys, you know, okay, somebody else could have done that on a caretaker basis.

But the idea is that there's been chatter in the air about the wolf still being very much involved in the Ben Simmons negotiation, trade talks, whatever.
