It's June 8th. I'm joined by

Bert Robson today. We watched Game 3 of the finals last night, and we'll get into that kind of

the second half of this episode. But I have a few wolves specific topics that I want to run by

Brits that I've kind of been thinking about lately, having spent a little

bit more time over the last couple weeks, thinking about this roster within the context of the

salary cap and moving forward. And Brit, as I sent you, I think two pieces of this roster for me

that I've kind of been brushing over, not thinking about them as part of the team and kind of

core are Kyle Anderson and Mike Conley because they are under contract for this season.

But both Anderson and Conley have just this one season left on their contract before they

become free agents in 2024.

We know that's when the Wolves roster is kind of going to get close to prohibitively

expensive with Katz Supermax kicking in.

Edwards and McDaniels contract extensions will kick in also for that 24 season.

So we can get into some maybe salary cap specifics on that later.

But we do know that if this roster

for 2024 was Towns, Gobert, Edwards, McDaniels, and 11 minimum contracts, that the team would

not only be over the salary cap, but also into the luxury tax, which kind of brought

me to the realization. What was that? Pretty amazing. It just goes to show you that probably not a

good idea to invest like $80 million in centers. That is, we could just stop the podcast here, you know.
