Matt, this week was the first week that my son properly had Formula One enter into his consciousness. I could actually

see it seeping into his brain and being absorbed. And it was the first time he was glued to the race

all weekend from qualifying through to the race. And it was just constant, constant questions.

And it's such a rewarding father-son experience to see him kind of soak in this atmosphere and gain a new hero.

I still can't get my daughter the least bit interested, no matter how hard I try.

She just gives me that withering tween look and says, Dad, I'm not interested. Ouch, that hurts. But normally the kid is like, yeah, yeah, I'm really interested. And then after a few minutes, he kind of tails off, wants to play iPad, goes and jumps on a trampoline. This is the first time he was really interested in the race. So he was tracking Daniel Ricciardo's progress through. He was desperate for the Aussie to come through the field. He really got behind Team Bottas and desperately wanted Bottas to catch the Ferraris. But he was just complaining all the time. Why isn't Louis Hamilton on the TV? I'm like, dude, he's like a mile up the road. Yeah, well, that's beautiful, though. I mean, it's wonderful that he's gotten interested this early in the sport, and it's going to be fantastic for you down the road. Yeah, I've got an F1 buddy. What a difference are weakmates, though, Matt. Hamilton had a dominant weekend this weekend weekend and all the talk of the championship slipping
