Britain makes one hell of an exit.

I'm Barbara Bogave, sitting in for Warren Alney, and this is To the Point from Public Radio International.

Britain's historic vote to leave the European Union has already toppled Prime Minister David Cameron,

rattled global markets, and sent the pound sterling to its lowest point in three decades.

And today is just day one of the Brexit's reverberations. It's a shocking end to a bitter

campaign to decide the future of the country which once played a guiding role in the EU.

But is this just the first of many exits?

Is the Leave Movement's populist success story a sign of things to come on this side of the pond?

We'll start in London and follow the ripples from Brussels to Middle America.
