So it's busy weekend with the resignation of pretty Patel's chief civil servant, Philip

Bruttenham. And the news at the same time that Boris Johnson's partner, Carrie Simmons,

is pregnant. Obviously, if that is the sole reason she got pregnant, she really is playing

the long game. Is there anything suspicious about that timing which certainly affected some

of the front pages or is this just sort of dead cat paranoia that seems to infect our

reading events? I don't know. It's like both of them are perfectly possible aren't they?

I notice that basically, even like lots of quite sensible people were saying, well this

must be time for exactly that. And I honestly wouldn't put it past them, but you have no

basis upon which to say it. And there's such a catastrophically inept government that I'm
