I think we will put our troops and our forces at higher risk if we don't recognize the impact of climate change.

So Britain decided to take people out of its prisons instead of putting more money into them.

Good morning. This is the Marketplace Morning Report and we are live

from the BBC World Service. I'm Leanna Byrne. Britain's prisons are at breaking point

with overcrowding staff shortages and funding cuts making the situation worse.

The prison population has hit a record high. The government's early release schemes are being used

as a quick fix, but with limited resources, critics say more needs to be done.

Just north of central London behind high brick walls, there's a whitewash building with bars on its windows and it's one of

Britain's most dangerous jails. Pentonville prison is also one of the most

crowded and costs around 69 million dollars a year to operate with four inmates to one
