Summary

The Anfield Wrap's free podcast after Brighton 2 Liverpool 2 in the Premier League, putting the result into context and how it might effect Liverpool in any potential title race. Neil Atkinson hosts Clive Tydesley, Harriet Prior, Ian Ryan and Phil Blundell... Also in the show John Gibbons talks to Anna whose little boy Francis Oldham was diagnosed with leukaemia aged just three months and who needed a stem cell transplant to treat the blood cancer. With the support of the Anthony Nolan charity, an appeal was launched to find a donor for Francis, and we are delighted to say that since the interview and thanks to a huge campaign in the city and beyond that led to hundreds signing up to become a donor, a match has been found for Francis and all being well he will be eligible for a transplant in November However, at the request of Anthony Nolan and with Anna's permission we are still going to run the interview as it would be wonderful if we can keep finding matches and keep helping people who need it and create even more happy endings. In Anna's words: "We are so grateful for everyone who has joined the register in hopes of being Francis’ match. We really hope everyone continues to join the register as there are thousands of people still looking for their match. Many of these will be babies just like Francis." and drawn to all. I am joined by Clive Tillsley, by Phil Blundle, by Ian Ryan, by Harriet

Pryor and we are in association with Green King. The Amphile Rap is sponsored for the 23-24

0:20.4

season by Green King, where football is more than a game. The sports venues are showing

0:24.6

every televised Liverpool fixture over the course of the season, so rather than doing nonsense

0:28.7

with dodgy streams, the most important thing when you watch football is to do with a

0:31.6

centre togetherness to do that and do it down at your local Green King pub. They've also

0:35.5

launched a Green King Sport Instagram page, which will be the home to, well, occasionally

0:41.3

me, which is a double-edged sword. You get enough of me as a spectre, but you might want

0:44.8

more. There's deals, there's competitions and they happen throughout the season. If

0:47.8

you get them, if you follow them, you won't be the first to know about all this. You'll

0:51.0

also be helping the Amphile Rapids and that would be very, very kind of you indeed, but

0:55.3

we'll get back into what matters, Brighton and how I'll be in two. Liverpool two, Philip,

0:59.8

you and I were there. It was an oscillating game. It's one of the oddest games I've ever

1:03.7

seen. Lots of bits of it don't operate like normal games of football should. There's lots

1:08.2

and lots and lots and lots and lots and lots and lots and lots and lots of football is

1:11.5

looking at each other like, is there space going to be opening up here? What's the risk

1:14.8

reward? Should I or shouldn't I play that pass? And it really just put the game on a really

1:18.5

mad curve for I think at least 60 minutes. Yeah, I don't think I've ever seen a game

1:22.0

for football where the ball was stationary with someone standing over it for quite as long

1:26.8

as yesterday. It was like a whole huge chunk of it was just taken out of the game because
