BMW have confirmed the M3 will go EV in 27 with quad motor power, a thousand kilowatts, a megawatt of power, that's about 13

horsepower, and they say that, yes, it won't have the noise of an M3 for the enthusiasts, but if

they're not convinced by 1,300 horsepower, then nothing will convince them to go EV, using the

new class platform which debuts in 2025.

Ionity, the European fast-charging network, have teamed up with village hotels to add 33 locations,

12 high-powered charges in each of those locations, which is awesome.

First ones in the ground next April, all done by the end of

next year. But is a hotel the best place for ultra-fast high-power charging where you're stopping

for 15, 20 minutes? I remain to be convinced. I think hotels should have 30, 40, 50 of their

parking spaces just with nice, slow level 2 charging butts. Hey, that's great

news. I don't want to be a party pooper. The European Union just moments ago confirmed the news

that they are going to investigate tariffs on subsidised Chinese EVs to protect the European

EV makers. A developing story that I'll certainly update you on over the coming days and weeks.

Another big updating story as the week goes on is the UAW, the Workers Union.

Now, it's not specifically a strike we're facing with the Detroit Big Three, with Ford and GM and Stalantis, about electric vehicles, but EVs are intrinsically linked to the future of the auto industry.

The battery plants that are being springing up in America, often in the south as well, right-to-work states,

and often not unionized because they are joint ventures with other companies.
