The Zika 9X is a plug-in hybrid SUV. So far, unremarkable. It uses an engine and a battery. That's pretty normal. It does have three silicon carbide motors and a 900-volt architecture. That's pretty special. But it has a 70 kilowatt hour pack in a plug-in hybrid.

Will we get this car out of China? I don't know. But if you've got a battery size that big and it

charges to 80% in 10 minutes, why are you buying a car with an engine or part of the arms

race in China to advertise the big headline range of combining engines and batteries,

which is a bit of a thing in

2025. I predict that phase will end. Lucid is going to unveil the new concept at the Monterey

Car Week and for the first time offer you a test drive of the air or the gravity if you're going along.

BYD have a premium brand called Yang Wang and they make the U-9 now coming with 3,000 combined horsepower.

Each motor is 750 horsepower. There's four motors, two and a half times more powerful than the current U-9.

They set about six of them a month. They did last month anyway, so not wildly popular because they're really expensive.

But should the likes of you and I,

as in not racing drivers, have access to that much power? BYD is leading in China. The monthly

market, once again, really impressive in China. Tesla down in 8th last month in July. Competition

is fierce there. In China, July's number was 1.26 million new energy

vehicles hovering around the 50% market share mark, by the way. Majority of those are pure
