The new Jeep compasses have been launched.

That's from the Stalantis group. They're using a

similar platform to the Peugeotos like the E5 and the E3-O8s. So two battery sizes, 73 or 97 kilowatt

hours. It'll give you 425 miles of range, all-wheel drive in the Jeep. They don't charge the

quickest they peak at about 160,

that's okay. And that is going to be going on sale in the fourth quarter. Mercedes-Benz next in the

news. Their new CLA is an 800-volt-vehicle and will only work with 800-volt DC fast chargers.

But there's plenty of 400 volt charges in the ground.

Loads of the old 50 kilowat ones, which are pretty old and long in the tooth now.

But you can't use any of those because unlike every other car that has a high voltage system,

it doesn't come with any form of DC-DC converter, either an onboard box or using one of the motors like the Hyundai's do.

That's fine, I suppose, but there's going to be vast swathes of the DC fast charging infrastructure,

which those buyers of the CLA simply cannot plug into because the vehicle won't get the voltage it needs from older DC fast charges.

I hope every buyer goes in with their eyes wide open on that one.

Rivian is set to further their expansion in Illinois with a new supplier park that's adjacent
